IOANNES MARCUS MARCI SESSION

The ceremonial Ioannes Marcus Marci Session (held under the auspices of the Ioannes Marcus Marci Society = the Czechoslovak Spectroscopic Society) took place on Wednesday, 03/09/2008, at 1530 hrs in the Prague City Hall Auditorium, a historic lecture hall in central Prague. To mark the occasion of the 20th Conference on High Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy, Dr. Jon T. Hougen gave a very personal account of, on one hand, the goings-on at some of the early conferences in the series and, on the other hand, the intricacies of the Czech language. The session concluded with Prof. Terry A. Miller, Dr. Thomas L. Wilson, and Prof. Per Jensen (Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Germany) being awarded the Ioannes Marcus Marci Medal for their contributions to different areas of spectroscopy.
