QUantitative Spectroscopy for Atmospheric and Astrophysical Research
"QUASAAR" (QUAntitative Spectroscopy for Atmospheric and Astrophysical Research) is a Marie Curie Research Training Network supported by the European Commission in the framework of the programme Structuring the European Research Area within the 6th Framework Research Programme of the European Union. It was established on March 1st, 2005, and ran for a total of four years.

The final QUASAAR winter school took place, together with the final QUASAAR network meeting, from February 20th to February 25th, 2009, in Hotel Sorea SNP in Jasná Chopok, Slovakia (in the Nízké Tatry mountains near the city of Liptovský Mikuláš).

The third QUASAAR network meeting took place, together with the third QUASAAR winter school (both events being organized by the partner in Lausanne), from Saturday January 19th to Thursday January 24th, 2008, at Hotel Kristall-Saphir in Saas-Almagell, Switzerland.

The QUASAAR/ESCOnet science communication training workshop (organized by ESConet, the European Science Communication Network) took place at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies, Dubrovnik, Croatia, from Thursday, September 13th, to Sunday, September 16th, 2007.

The first advanced QUASAAR winter (or spring) school combined with the mid-term review meeting (organized by the network partners at Université Libre de Bruxelles) took place from Tuesday April 17th to Sunday April 22nd, 2007, at "Le Domaine des Masures" in Han-sur-Lesse, Belgium.

The first QUASAAR Job Market Introduction Workshop was held on August 28th, 2006, in Prague, Czech Republic, in connection with the PRAHA2006 conference. At the workshop, representatives from industry shared their experience with the QUASAAR fellows, and QUASAAR senior scientists reviewed the academic systems and associated career opportunities in some of the countries involved.

The first QUASAAR network meeting took place, together with the first QUASAAR winter school (both events being organized by the partners in Grenoble, Créteil, and Lille), from Saturday January 28th to Thursday February 2nd, 2006, at Hotel Cartusia in Sarcenas near Grenoble, France.

The QUASAAR network started on March 1st, 2005. The "kick-off meeting" took place from Friday April 8th to Sunday April 10th, 2005, in Hamminkeln, Germany. At the meeting, the network partners chose the venues for the planned network events.
